July 29, 2010-Down with D's

September 2010 will mark the end of an era in Mount Olive Middle and High Schools. The schools have decided to do away with the “D” letter grade. In order to receive a passing grade, students must earn an A, B or C. If they don’t get a 70 or above, then they will fail. Mount Olive superintendent of schools Larrie Reynolds says the district is “asking students to try harder.” Rest up over summer break, because skating by with a 65 is no longer an option.
