Brendan Cusack, 18 and a high school senior from Clinton, is fast becoming nothing short of a sports legend. And while football is top-of-mind for most this time of year, Brendan prefers swashbuckling moves to tackles: he is a champ in the sport of fencing. In early December 2010 Brendan, who holds both Irish and U.S. citizenships and fences for the Irish Fencing Federation, won the Irish Open foil fencing championship in Dublin. This past year, Brendan traveled to Denmark, Azerbaijan, England, Luxembourg and twice to Germany on separate trips, as well as competing in several major events within the United States and Canada. Over the next four months he will travel to Austria and Spain for world cup events and Jordan for the U-20 World Championships.
