A higher education task force led by former Gov. Thomas H. Kean has recommended that the state’s colleges and employers work more closely together to develop the state’s work force, according to an article in NJBIZ. Colleges need to be on top of work force trends and demands by communicating more closely with the business world, according to the task force’s report. Task force member John McGoldrick said the report should lead to a closer alliance between businesses and colleges. “What I think is most important about it is, it tries to set a tone for much greater cooperation and interaction,” McGoldrick said, adding that both business and higher-education officials said they wanted to have more interaction, but it hasn’t been happening.
