Cumberland, Atlantic Counties Approved for
December 2010 Snow Storm Assistance

Governor Chris Christie is pleased to announce that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved Cumberland and Atlantic Counties for federal disaster reimbursement (FEMA-1954-DR-NJ) to cover damages and costs related to the severe snow storms which impacted New Jersey counties on December 26 -27, 2010.

"Cumberland and Atlantic Counties can now fully recover from one of the most devastating snow storms that our state has experienced in recent years," said Christie.

In the aftermath of the December storm, Governor Christie sent a formal request to the White House for federal disaster assistance. A comprehensive storm damage assessment led by the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) in conjunction with federal, county and local officials was completed. Further review of the State's request resulted in eligibility for recovery assistance for Cumberland and Atlantic Counties.
