Flood Clean-Up Assistance Available, Call 2-1-1

WEST TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey residents who need assistance with flood clean-up can call 2-1-1 for help. Experienced, local, faith-based volunteer groups, who are also affiliated with the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), are available for clean-up and mud-outs. Priority will be given to people with disabilities, seniors and others needing extra assistance with cleaning up mud and water damage.

The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army distributed clean-up supplies over the weekend; these agencies will have more kits available throughout the week.

Dial 2-1-1 for more information, or to request assistance. If you have trouble dialing 2-1-1, the information and referral line can also be reached at 877-652-1148. NJ 2-1-1 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; it’s free and confidential. TTY and multilingual services are available.
