BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE 17-2014 - Ordinance 17-2014 amends Chapter 115 (Development Regulations) of the Code of Buena Vista Township by revising various provisions related to signs. Ordinance 17-2014 establishes what kinds of signs are permitted within the Township's various zoning districts as well as the number and size of signs permitted at each use. It also establishes various prohibitions related to signs. Additionally, Ordinance 17-2014 adopts standards for changeable copy and electronic message center signs, including restrictions on their location. Within the Pinelands Area, changeable copy and electronic message signs are to be permitted only in the PT (Pinelands Town-Commerce), PVRC (Pinelands Village Residence/Commerce), and PVI (Pinelands Village Exclusive Industry) Districts. Ordinance 17-2014 also establishes maximum luminance levels for such signs and requires that each message maintain a minimum display time of 8 seconds before changing. Continuous scrolling, flashing, blinking, spinning, rotating, and similar moving effects are prohibited. As such, Ordinance 17-2014 directly relates to CMP standards and must be formally reviewed and approved by the Pinelands Commission before it may take effect.
