In the Matter of the Petition of United Water New Jersey for Authority to Issue and Sell up to $75 Million Dollars Principal Amount Taxable Bonds, BPU Docket No. WF10120914

 

On December 6, 2010, United Water New Jersey submitted a petition to the Board of Public Utilities seeking authority to issue up to $75,000,000 in long-term debt.  The net proceeds from the sale and delivery of the Bonds will be applied to the redemption of $40 million of the Company’s tax-exempt First Mortgage bonds; $26 million worth of short-term debt; and $9 million of preferred stock.

I/M/O Petition of United Water New Jersey Inc. for Approval of an Increase in Rates for Water Service and Other Tariff Changes, BPU Docket No. WR09120987

On December 9, 2009, United Water New Jersey filed a petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities seeking approval for an increase in rates for water service of 21.3%, or approximately $37.8 million in additional revenues per year.  In addition, the petition also seeks to establish a Distribution System Improvement Charge and an Energy and Chemicals Cost Adjustment Clause.  Under United's proposal, a residential customer using an average of about 22,000 gallons of water per quarter will see his or her bill increase from $115.70 to $144.94, an increase of $28.24 per quarter of 25.3%.

On October 21, 2008, United Water West Milford filed a Petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities seeking approval of an increase in revenues of $339,888.  A residential customer will see his or her bill increase from $161.13 to $296.01, an increase of $134.88 per quarter or 83.71%.

On October 21, 2008, United Water Arlington Hills filed a Petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities seeking approval of an increase in revenues of $339,398.  A residential customer using 6,000 gallons of water bi-monthly will see his or her sewerage bill increase from $106.12 to $159.58, an increase of $53.46 bi-monthly or 50.38%.

On March 6, 2008, United Water filed a Petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities seeking approval for an increase in revenues of $14.9 million or approximately 91% over current base rates.

UNITED WATER NEW JERSEY, UNITED WATER TOMS RIVER, UNITED WATER LAMBERTVILLE, UNITED WATER MID-ATLANTIC, AND GAZ de FRANCE – Request for Approval of Change in Ownership, BPU Docket No. WM06110767

 

United Water New Jersey which serves approximately 250,000 customers in 75 municipalities in New Jersey on November 1, 2006 filed a Petition before the Board of Public Utilities seeking approval of a change in ownership and control. United Water represents that the proposed transaction will not involve any transfer of franchises, assets, or customers and the Petition does not seek any changes in rates charged or services provided by the United Water to their customers.

 

Rate Counsel is reviewing the filing.  A public hearing was held on May 31, 2007 in Hackensack, New Jersey where members of the public were able to voice their concerns.
