The purpose of the SBIR Bridge Grant program is to increase the success and maximize the growth of small New Jersey companies in moving from Phase I to Phase II. The program supports New Jersey's technology industry by awarding grants to entrepreneurs who have both, applied for Phase II funding and who have been identified as potential Phase II SBIR/STTR awardees. This program will sustain small businesses through the funding gap which occurs between completion of the Phase I grant and the initiation of a Phase II award.

The Commission on Science and Technology strives to increase federal research funding for small technology firms in New Jersey, specifically by increasing investments through the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.

The Bridge Grant Program supports New Jersey's technology industry by awarding $50,000 grants to entrepreneurs who have both applied for Phase II funding and been identified as potential Phase II SBIR/STTR awardees. Bridge Grants help sustain small businesses through the funding gap between completion of the Phase I grant and initiation of a Phase II award.
