New Jersey Military Installation Growth and
Development Task Force Report

Joint Base Retiree Appreciation Day – April 24, 2015

The New Jersey Military Installation Growth and Development Task Force arose from the on-going national dialogue regarding Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), mission loss to other installations, and the potential impacts of such on New Jersey. In recognition of the significant impact New Jersey’s military installations have on the nation’s defense, the state’s economy, and local communities, the Task Force was created by Executive Order to help fortify our bases and make them less attractive targets for BRAC and mission loss.

New Jersey Military Installation Growth and Development Task Force Report

Chaired by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, the Task Force has studied New Jersey’s military installations, gaining a greater understanding of each installation, as well as their economic impact on the state and their home communities. During this time, the public debate about funding national defense and military installations only intensified, increasing the urgency of addressing any potential BRAC and mission loss vulnerabilities.

Naval Weapons Station Earle Tour – July 10, 2014

State and local communities have a role in our collective effort to protect the military installations that provide so much to our state and our communities. To such ends, the Task Force’s final report presents a series of recommendations for state and local governments, interested stakeholders, and impacted communities to help improve the vitality of our military installations and inform our federal representatives.
