CaFE (Call For Entry) is the free service that the State Arts Council is now using to inform visual artists of opportunities to apply for State Arts Inclusion commissions and more. Free registration in CaFE means monthly listings of public art projects, fellowships, juried competitions and other opportunities for artists not only in New Jersey but in other states as well. Artists manage their own profiles including 100 images of work, resume, bio and professional skills which can be used when applying for opportunities announced through CaFE. This transparent process allows artists to find, select and apply for commissions and opportunities, all within one system!

BergenPAC is holding auditions for people 12 to 18 years old for its Musical Theater Orchestra run by musician/composer Glenn Gordon. The orchestra performs on the bergenPAC stage numerous times a year including winter and spring concerts, the Roberta Mathes Gala, and theater and dance showcases. Members will open for certain bergenPAC acts. The orchestra learns Broadway repertoire, accompanies beyondDANCE shows, and participates in outreach programs to schools and other venues.

Verismo Opera invites professional, amateur, and retired professional vocalists to audition for their chorus. Applicants should have a working ability to read music and experience singing. Choristers will perform in the company's fall production of Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème on Sundays, October 19 and 26, 2014. Mixed Media Magic Photography Workshop

This two-day mixed media workshop using digital photography is geared for artists of any level who want to mix photographs with other mediums in order to add new interest to their work. The Education program at bergenPAC is holding auditions for its Dance Competition team led by Performing Arts School Teaching Artist, Tabitha Boulding. Healing Through Arts: A Collaborative Exhibition

Healing Arts and Paul Robeson Galleries invite artists from the community and around the world to share their vision of the restorative effects of art. Artists may submit works on paper in any two-dimensional format, including but not limited to painting in acrylic or watercolor, collage, photography, etc. for this juried exhibition. Many artists have experienced art-making as a healing tool to help them navigate through life's physical and emotional difficulties and to improve their spirit and well-being. When submitting, artists are encouraged to consider the healing properties and benefits of art as related to their work. The exhibition will begin January 2015 and run through July 2015 at the Paul Robeson Galleries in Newark, NJ.

Arts Guild New Jersey announces an open call for artists for their juried exhibit "The Baker's Dozen". The thirteen artists chosen for the 2015 competition will be featured in an exhibit held at the Arts Guild New Jersey gallery in Rahway, NJ. Twelve of the artists chosen will be featured on the Arts Guild New Jersey website as an Artist of the Month for one month each beginning in January 2015. The selected artists' monthly web page will feature a dozen images of their artwork, a statement and resume.

Tennessee Tech University seeks an artist or artist team to design and implement exterior site-specific artwork, or multiple and related artworks, of original design and intended for permanent display. The artwork should communicate energy and vitality and celebrate the spirit of the university and the local community. Aljira at 30, Dream and Reality, a retrospective exhibition, is a lively, historical overview with many archival images showing Aljira's journey from the early days when a group of artists answered an ad for studio space in the Roseville section of Newark to its current home at 591 Broad Street. Join moderator Judith K. Brodsky and panelists Will "Kasso" Condry, Victor Davson, Chuck Schultz and Fausto Sevila, as they discuss their experiences with art as a vehicle for social change. The discussion will include time for Q&A. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to see the exhibition on it's final day.

Registration is now open for the fall semester at Arts Guild New Jersey. Classes begin the week of September 30th and meet once a week for eight weeks. Adult classes, with both morning and evening options, include diverse and multi-level offerings in drawing, painting (oils, acrylics, and watercolor), and stained glass. Teen and kids classes meet after school or on Saturdays. Teen classes include drawing and Anime/Manga; and for kids, sculpture, drawing, art story and cartooning.

The Unlimited Potential Theater Co., a project of VSA New Jersey, is seeking poems, essays, short stories and plays for its 21st annual Joyce Indik New Jersey Wordsmith Competition. The contest is open to all New Jersey writers age 18 and over. Submissions by writers with disabilities are encouraged. Winning works will be showcased at the New Jersey Readers Theatre in the spring of 2015. In lieu of an entry fee, a donation of any amount is welcomed to cover the cost of the competition.

Applications for the Creative Glass Center of America (CGCA) Fellowship Program are now being accepted. Up to four traditional three-month fellowships will be awarded for the Spring of 2015. During the remainder of the year, CGCA will work to accommodate artists' needs with custom fellowships of various lengths and flexible schedules. In addition to the residency, artists are encouraged to submit proposals for six-week residencies, intermittent residencies, short-term project support and performance-based work.

Arts Unbound is a non-profit gallery and studio serving artists with disabilities. The gallery is always seeking new artists.The next call is for the November show "In the Mix: Art Inspired by Music." S.I.P.M.A presents "I Live Here" a show that addresses individual space - in varying expressions; irrespective of one's place of residence. Garden State Film Festival

The Garden State Film Festival is accepting entries from independent filmmakers for screening during next year's film festival to be held March 19-22, 2015 in Atlantic City. In 2014, the festival moved from Asbury Park to a new permanent home in Atlantic City, and featured almost 180 films from 17 countries, an open talent casting call, panel discussions, free screening for public school students and opening and closing ceremonies. A panel of professional judges will review the entries in a number of categories including the best feature length, short, documentary (short and feature length), animation (short and feature length), music video, PSA, commercial and trailers.

The Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center announces the 33rd Bi-Annual New Jersey Film Festival. Entry categories include: Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Short Narrative, Feature, Music Video and Student Filmmaker (college or younger). The maximum film age is 24 months. The Spring 2015 Festival will be held on select evenings between January 23 and March 6, 2015 and will showcase the best in independent film by featuring premiere screenings, filmmaking workshops, and special guest appearances by film directors, screenwriters, cast and crew.

The Morris Museum is accepting submissions for the upcoming New Jersey Arts Annual: Crafts. This year's Arts Annual in Crafts, "Accessorize-The Person & The Place," will explore trends taking place in contemporary crafts as artists cross boundaries in process and materials. The New Jersey Arts Annual is a unique series of exhibitions highlighting the works of New Jersey visual artists and craftspeople. One exhibition takes place each year in either fine arts or crafts, in altering sequence. This exhibition series is open to any artist currently living or working in New Jersey.

ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Plan Training Sessions are presented by the Cultural Access Network, a co-sponsored project of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. These workshops are designed for those organizations that are required to submit an ADA plan to the State Arts Council by December 31, 2014 and represent the following disciplines: visual arts, crafts, literature and media. Learn how to effectively complete the newly revised FY15 to FY17 ADA Plan Outline required of GOS/GPS/LAP grantees of the State Arts Council.
