The National Park Service in partnership with the Fort Hancock 21st Century Federal Advisory Committee is seeking proposals for the redevelopment of historic structures in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area in Monmouth County, NJ - an area with National Landmark status on the National Register of Historic Places. Proposals will be accepted from individuals, governmental and quasi-governmental agencies, and non-profit or for-profit organizations and educational institutions for ideas for the re-use of 35 historic buildings.

Poetry Out Loud is a national recitation contest that encourages high school students across the country to learn about great works of classic and contemporary poetry through memorization and recitation. Supported across the country by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, and in New Jersey by the State Arts Council, the program is open to all New Jersey public, charter, private and parochial high schools, and home school associations.
