Register to participate in one or more of these opportunities
As part of the Critical Financial Services Cosponsored Program, the NJ State Council on the Arts and Nonprofit Finance Fund are thrilled to announce a free fall webinar and workshop series on key topics in nonprofit financial management. You may register for all three sessions, which build on each other, or for specific sessions that interest you most. Webinars are open to all New Jersey arts and cultural organizations; due to space limitations for the in-person workshop, preference will be given to current Arts Council grantees.
In-person Workshop – What’s in a Budget?
Friday, November 18th, 9:30am-12pm in Trenton
This workshop is designed for Executive Directors, senior staff, and Board Members. We will review the basics of budgeting and begin our discussion with the essential budget, where true financial story is clear; moving to the ideal budget, which also addresses balance sheet needs; and finishing with to the advanced budget, which communicates the complexities of your business. We will review basic budgeting formats and discuss common questions such as budgeting multi-year or restricted funding, showing "carryover" funds, reforecasting vs. amending the budget, and cash vs. accrual budgeting.
