Abstract:

The Brownfields SiteMart is a point feature class representing brownfield sites within the State of New Jersey that have been selected for inclusion on the NJ SiteMart, a website that indexes brownfield sites. Brownfields are defined as any former or current commercial or industrial site, currently vacant or underutilized, on which there has been, or there is suspected to have been, a discharge of a contaminant.

Purpose:

To highlight and denote locations of brownfield sites within the State of New Jersey with the objective of promoting the redevelopment of brownfields throughout the State. Suitable for cartographic use.

Users are encouraged to notify the data set contact of any errors. Verification or ground truthing of features should be performed before analysis is conducted using this data.
