Acting Governor Donald T. DiFrancesco Has
Signed The Following Transportation Legislation Today:

A-3337 Legislation signed by Acting
Governor Donald T. DiFrancesco To Update
Standards for the Preservation of Driving Records.

A-3337, sponsored by Assemblymen Alex DeCroce (R-Essex/Morris/Passaic) and Joseph Pennacchio (R-Essex/Morris/Passaic), to update standards for the preservation of driving records. The current statute, adopted in 1921 and amended in the 1950's, locks the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) into using methods and technology that are no longer appropriate for a high volume operation. The recommended amendments would allow the DMV to determine how best to maintain copies of these documents while still meeting State record's management standards.
