NJDOT to replace the Route 94 Bridge over Yard’s Creek in Knowlton

(Trenton) -- Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) on Monday, April 30 will begin the replacement of the Route 94 Bridge over Yard’s Creek in Knowlton Township, Warren County.

“The replacement of the Route 94 Bridge is an investment in safety that exemplifies NJDOT’s annual commitment of over $500 million to improvements to the state's aging highway bridges,” said Commissioner Kolluri. “The reconstructed Route 94 will provide safer driving conditions on the structure and its approaches.”

The $2.5 million project will replace the existing deteriorated structure with a new 25-foot span carrying Route 94 traffic over Yard’s Creek. NJDOT also will reconstruct and repave 600 feet of the bridge’s approaches.

NJDOT will provide one lane of traffic through the construction area for the duration of the project. The contractor will install temporary traffic signals at each end of the project to control traffic flow. Construction is scheduled to be completed in spring 2008.

Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.njcommuter.com for emergency information.
