NJDOT completes Grove Street bridge rehabilitation over Route 46 in Clifton City
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced the Grove Street bridge over Route 46 in Clifton City, Passaic County has been rehabilitated and fully reopened to traffic.
All major construction activities were finished by November 12, with only minor inspection and clean up activities remaining. NJDOT began the bridge rehabilitation project in October 2009.
The $2.8 million federally funded project provides much needed infrastructure improvements on the local roadway system in Clifton City. NJDOT has fully rehabilitated the old, structurally deficient Grove Street bridge over Route 46. In addition, NJDOT increased the vertical under-clearance of the bridge to 15-feet.
Construction was funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
