Route 9 northbound ramp Salem Hill Road westbound will be closed next week in Howell

Ramp will be detoured for approximately two weeks

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced that the Route 9 northbound ramp to Salem Hill Road westbound in Howell will be closed for two weeks while construction proceeds to enlarge the ramp.

On Friday, April 8, NJDOT Contractor, L.N. Rotheberg, will close the Route 9 northbound ramp to Salem Hill Road westbound for approximately two weeks. The ramp is being expanded to permit added traffic that is expected due to the construction of a nearby shopping center.

The following detour will be in effect throughout the closure:

  • Traffic will continue straight on Route 9 northbound and make a u-turn at Aldrich Road to back to Salem Hill Road westbound.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
