2004 Aviation Art Contest Winners

This year’s theme was “Flying Saves Lives.” Today, pilots use airplanes and helicopters to fight large fires and fly rural accident victims to far away hospitals; organs are packed in ice and flown to save dying patients; relief agencies transport food and supplies to starving and needy people all around the world. Contestants were asked to think of and illustrate other ways that “flying saves lives”. Among the nearly 800 submissions, were depictions of flight ranging from rescue helicopters to jet fighters and a host of colorful airplanes
