2004 Aviation Art Contest WinnersThis years theme was Flying Saves Lives. Today, pilots use airplanes and helicopters to fight large fires and fly rural accident victims to far away hospitals; organs are packed in ice and flown to save dying patients; relief agencies transport food and supplies to starving and needy people all around the world. Contestants were asked to think of and illustrate other ways that flying saves lives. Among the nearly 800 submissions, were depictions of flight ranging from rescue helicopters to jet fighters and a host of colorful airplanes The winners are:Ages 6 to 9First PlaceCatherine Cid, Roberto Clemente School, Paterson, NJ Second Place Third Place Honorable Mention Ages 10-13First PlaceRyan Czepiel, Fisher Middle School, Ewing, NJ Second Place Third Place Honorable Mention Ages 14 to 17
