The New Jersey Department of Transportation's Office of Maritime Resources (NJDOT/OMR) administers the National Boating Infrastructure Grant (NBIG) program. Marinas are encouraged
to review the grant guidelines and criteria for NBIG. All project
costs are pro-rated to serve a transient boating population, and there
is a 25 percent match associated with receipt of the NBIG funds. The project budget must be clear, reasonable and cost-efficient. Applicants
may apply for Tier 1, Tier 2, or both, so long as the projects are

The NJDOT/OMR is currently accepting Letters of Interest (LOI) for FY 2014 funding. A LOI is the first step in the NBIG application
process. Once your LOI has been approved, draft NBIG applications are due to NJDOT/OMR on September 18, 2013 and final applications are due on October 16, 2013. A package of information, "What you need to know to apply for NBIG funding" (pdf 404kb) is available for interested
