The New Jersey Department
of Transportation's (NJDOT) Self-Evaluation
for Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) Implementation Plan (pdf
101k) was
developed to fulfill the requirements
of the Americans with Disabilities
Act of 1990. The Act requires
NJDOT conduct a self-evaluation
of its programs, policies and
procedures offered to the public
to ensure accessibility to persons
with disabilities.
The NJDOT
Transition Plan (pdf
382k) | Executive
Summary (pdf
84k) reflects
the results of a comprehensive
review and survey of buildings,
facilities, programs and practices
that are under the jurisdiction
of NJDOT. The Transition Plan
assesses the needs of persons
with disabilities and then identifies
and prioritizes actions needed
and schedules the required pedestrian
accessibility upgrades. The Transition
Plan is to be updated periodically
to develop the Statewide Transportation
Improvement Plan (STIP) and Metropolitan
Planning Organization (MPO) programs.
