Database

NJDOT maintains a database of qualified Electrical Traffic and Signal Safety products. You may examine the qualified Electrical Traffic and Signal Safety products through the Electrical Traffic and Signal Safety Database portal.

Traffic Signal LED Modules must be in Compliance with the current Specifications from the Institute of Transportation Engineers with a Certification by a Third Party Independent Testing Program.

Only LED Traffic Signal Modules that are listed on the Directory of the Third Party Independent Testing Companies website will be allowed for NJDOT projects. The LED's must meet and be tested for the latest ITE specifications:
  • ITE Vehicle Traffic Control Signal Heads - LED Circular Signal Supplement (Adopted June 27, 2005)
  • ITE Vehicle Traffic Control Signal Heads - LED Vehicle Arrow Traffic Signal Supplement (Adopted July 1, 2007)
  • ITE Pedestrian Traffic Control Signal Indicators - Light Emitting Diode (led) Signal Modules (Adopted August 4, 2010)
