New Jersey Maritime Pilot & Docking Commissions
Proposes Amendments and New Rules to Existing Regulatons
The New Jersey Maritime Pilot and Docking Pilot Commission is proposing amendments and new rules for N.J.A.C. 16:64, the rules governing the licensure and regulations of Maritime Pilots and Docking Pilots in the State of New Jersey.
These rules are proposed to “cleanup” the Commission’s regulations to (1) fix errors/ typos; (2) correct regulatory citations; (3) consolidate language to eliminate duplication/ inconsistencies; (4) combine certain requirements applicable to both Docking Pilots and Maritime Pilots into one section(s); and, (5) incorporate current Commission directives/ policies.
The proposed rules appear in the March 17, 2014 issue of the New Jersey Register at 46 N.J.R. 481(A). The public has until May 16, 2014 to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing to Jonathan Sarubbi, Executive Director, The New Jersey Maritime Pilot and Docking Pilot Commission, One Penn Plaza East, 9th floor, Newark, NJ 07105. Comments submitted to the Commission on the proposed rulemaking are public records and are available for public inspection by prior appointment during normal commission business hours.
