Restricted Parking and Stopping


Route US 22

(a)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 22 described in this section are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30.  In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.

1.

In Warren County:

i. In the Town of Phillipsburg:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

ii. In the Township of Lopatcong:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iii. In the Township of Pohatcong:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iv. In the Township of Greenwich:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

*NOTE*: Route US 22 coincides with Route I-78 from milepost 5.07 to milepost 33.88.

In Hunterdon County:

i. In the Township of Clinton:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

ii. In the Borough of Lebanon:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iii. In the Township of Readington:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

3.

In Somerset County:

i. In the Township of Branchburg:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

ii. In the Township of Bridgewater:

(1)

No stopping or standing for the entire length:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iii. In the Borough of Bound Brook:

(1)

No stopping or standing:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iv. In the Township of Green Brook:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Between the Bridgewater Township corporate line and Rock Avenue.

v.  In the Borough of North Plainfield:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

vi.  In the Borough of Watchung:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) From the center line of Terrill Road to the Borough of Watchung / Township of Scotch Plains corporate line.

4.

In Union County:

i. In the Township of Scotch Plains:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) From the Borough of Watchung / Township of Scotch Plains corporate line to a point 425 feet west of the center line of Union Avenue.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) From the center line of Victor Street to a point 825 feet east of the center line of Victor Street.

ii.  In the Borough of Mountainside:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between the intersection of New Providence Road and the Borough of Mountainside / Township of Scotch Plains corporate line.

iii.  In the Township of Springfield:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between the intersection of Stern Avenue and South Springfield Avenue.

iv.  In the Township of Union:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Between Chestnut Avenue and the Township of Union / Township of Springfield corporate line.

(b)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 22 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "no parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times except as specified. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established bus stops:

1.

In Warren County:

i.  In the Town of Phillipsburg:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Potts Avenue (120 feet)

(B) Warren Street (120 feet)

(C) Lincoln Street (120 feet)

(D) Roseberry Street (120 feet)

(2)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Miller Street (105 feet)

(B) Firth Street (105 feet)

(C) Prospect Street (105 feet)

(D) Bates Street (105 feet)

(E) Pickford Avenue (105 feet)

(3)

Mid-Block bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Miller Street – Beginning 120 feet east of the easterly curb line of Miller Street and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(4)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Lincoln Road (120 feet)

(B) Stadium Gate (Hillcrest Boulevard) (120 feet)

(5)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Pickford Avenue (105 feet)

(B) Sargent Avenue (105 feet)

(C) Ingersoll Avenue (105 feet)

(D) Prospect Street (105 feet)

2.

In Hunterdon County:

i. In the Borough of Lebanon:

(1)

Far side bus stop along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Cokesbury Road (105 feet).

(2)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Cokesbury Road (105 feet)

ii. In the Township of Readington:

(1)

Mid-block bus stop along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Between Flemington-Whitehouse Road (CR 523) (Old Route 28) and Cedar Drive - Beginning 260 feet east of the traffic signal on the island at Flemington-Whitehouse Road (CR 523) and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(2)

Near side bus stop along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Flemington-Whitehouse Road (CR 523) (Old Route 28) - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Old Route 28 and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

3.

In Union County:

i.  In the Township of Scotch Plains:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Willow Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Willow Avenue and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Haven Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Jersey Avenue and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(2)

Far side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A)Union Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Union Avenue and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Byrd Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Byrd Avenue and extending 100 feet easterly

(C) Victor Street – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Victor Street and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

Mid-Block bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Between Glenside Avenue and Mountain Avenue – Beginning 80 feet east of the easterly curb line of Glenside Avenue and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(4)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Mountain Avenue Exit Ramp – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Mountain Avenue Exit Ramp and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Harding Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Harding Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Union Avenue - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Union Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(5)

Mid-Block bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between Dickens Lane and Robin Hood Road – Beginning 200 feet east of the easterly curb line of Dickens Lane and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Between Glenside Avenue and Victor Street – Beginning 1000 feet west of the westerly curb line of Glenside Avenue and extending 135 feet westerly therefrom

ii. In the Borough of Mountainside:

(1)

Far side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Lawrence Avenue - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Lawrence Avenue and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Mill Lane - beginning at the easterly curb line of Mill Lane and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(2)

Mid-block bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) New Providence Road and Parkway Avenue - Beginning at a point 265 feet east of the easterly curb line of New Providence Road and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) New Providence Road - beginning at the easterly curb line of New Providence Road and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Robin Hood Road - beginning at the easterly curb line of Robin Hood Road and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(4)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Lawrence Avenue U-Turn – beginning at the westerly curb line of Lawrence Avenue U-Turn and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(5)

Mid-block bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Central Avenue and Summit Avenue - beginning at a point 125 feet east of the easterly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

iii. In the Township of Springfield:

(1)

Far side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Lawrence Road - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Lawrence Road and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Fadam Road - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Fadam Road and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(2)

Mid-Block bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Between Dundar Road and South Springfield Avenue - Beginning 70 feet east of the easterly curb line of Dundar Road and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Between South Springfield Avenue and Lawrence Road - Beginning 450 feet east of the easterly curb line of South Springfield Avenue and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Between Fadam Road and the Rahway River - Beginning 1150 feet east of the easterly curb line of Fadam Road and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Brown Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Brown Avenue and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(4)

Mid-Block bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between Hillside Avenue and Stern Avenue - Beginning 360 feet east of the easterly curb line of Hillside Avenue and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Between South Springfield Avenue Overpass and Hillside Avenue - Beginning 300 feet east of the easterly curb line of the South Springfield Avenue Overpass and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Between South Springfield Avenue and Mountain Avenue  - Beginning 500 feet east of the easterly curb line of Mountain Avenue and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

iv. In the Township of Union:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Highland Avenue - beginning at the westerly curb line of Highland Avenue and extending to a point 105 feet westerly therefrom.

(2)

Far side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Springfield Road South - beginning at the easterly curb line of Springfield Road South and extending to a point 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Fairway Drive South - beginning at the easterly curb line of Fairway Drive South and extending to a point 125 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

Mid-block bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Between Jefferson Avenue and Monroe Avenue - beginning at a point 1,700 feet west of the westerly curb line of Jefferson Avenue and extending to a point 135 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Between Michigan Avenue and Ball Avenue - beginning at a point 560 feet west of the westerly curb line of Ball Avenue and extending to a point 135 feet westerly therefrom.

(4)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Wewanna Avenue - beginning at the easterly curb line of Wewanna Avenue and extending to a point 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Hudson Street - beginning at the easterly curb line of Hudson Street and extending to a point 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(5)

Mid-Block bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between Monroe Street North and the Rahway River - beginning at a point 1,700 feet west of the westerly curb line of Monroe Street North and extending to a point 135 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Between Gelb Avenue and Springfield Road North - beginning at a point 500 feet east of the easterly curb line of Springfield Road North and extending to a point 135 feet easterly therefrom.

v. In the Borough of Kenilworth:

(1)

Far side bus stop along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Michigan Avenue - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Michigan Avenue and located within 225 feet easterly therefrom.

(c)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 22 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "Loading Zones for School Buses”. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-139 and NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established Loading Zones for School Buses only:

1.

In Warren County:

i.  In the Town of Phillipsburg:

(1)

Loading Zone for School Buses along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 35 feet west of the westerly curb line of Fairview Avenue and extending to a point 50 feet westerly therefrom.
