Route NJ 27

(a)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 27 described in this section are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30.  In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.

1.

In Mercer County:

i.  In the Borough of Princeton:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Route US 206 (Bayard Lane) to the southerly curb line of Mercer Street.

(B) From the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Palmer Square West to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Palmer Square East.

(C) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Moore Street to the southerly curb line of Charlton Street.

(D) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Linden Lane to the southerly curb line of Princeton Avenue.

(E) From the northerly curb line of Princeton Avenue to the southerly curb line of Harrison Street.

(F) From the northerly curb line of Harrison Street to a point 190 feet northerly therefrom.

(G) From the northerly curb line of Markham Street to the southerly curb line of Wilton Street.

(H) From the northerly curb line of Wilton Street to a point 180 feet northerly therefrom.

(I) From the northerly curb line of Cedar Lane to a point 695 feet northerly therefrom.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between a point 100 feet south of the southerly curb line of Snowden Lane to the northerly curb line of Harriet Drive.

(B) From the southerly curb line of Harriet Drive to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Cedar Lane.

(C) From the prolongation of the southerly curb line to Cedar Lane to a point 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(D) From a point 240 feet south of the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Cedar Lane to Wilton Street.

(E) From the southerly curb line of Scott Lane to the northerly curb line of Harrison Street.

(F) From the southerly curb line of Harrison Street to the northerly curb line of Evelyn Place.

(G) From the southerly curb line of Evelyn Place to the northerly curb line of Queenstown Place.

(H) From the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Princeton Avenue to the northerly curb line of Linden Lane.

(I) From the southerly curb line of Linden Lane to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Murray Place.

(J) From the southerly curb line of Maple Street to a point 120 feet southerly therefrom.

(K) From the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Mercer Street to the northerly curb line of Route US 206 (Bayard Lane).

No stopping or standing along both sides from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions.

In Middlesex County:

NOTE: State Highway Route NJ 27 is under county (Middlesex County) jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 15.37 to 16.55.

i.  In the Township of South Brunswick:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at the northerly bridge abutment of the Millstone River to Church Street-Academy Street (approximate mileposts 3.0 to 3.32).

(B) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Academy Street and extending to a point 75 feet northerly therefrom (approximate milepost 3.32)

(C) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Heathcote Road and extending to a point 125 feet northerly therefrom (approximate milepost 3.34).

(D) Beginning at a point 345 feet north of the northerly curb line of Heathcote Road and extending to the South Brunswick Township – North Brunswick Township corporate line.

ii.  In the Township of North Brunswick:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions.

iii.  In the City of New Brunswick:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) From the southerly bridge abutment of Mile Run Brook (MP 15.4) to the Franklin Township – New Brunswick City corporate line (on the southbound side) / North Brunswick Township – New Brunswick City corporate line (on the northbound side) including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

(B) For the entire length of the service roadway situated on the northerly side of Route 27 between Peace Street and Water Street.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From the northerly curb line of Academy Street to a point 175 feet north of the northerly curb line of Academy Street.

iv. In the Borough of Highland Park:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From the City of New Brunswick-Borough of Highland Park corporate line to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Lincoln Avenue.

(B) From a point of 110 feet north of the northerly curb line of Lincoln Avenue to the southerly curb line of South Adelaide Avenue.

(C) From a point 110 feet north of the northerly curb line of South Adelaide Avenue to the southerly curb line of Cedar Avenue.

(D) From a point 110 feet north of the northerly curb line of Woodbridge Avenue to a point 120 feet south of the southerly curb line of South Ninth Avenue.

(E) From the northerly curb line of South Ninth Avenue to a point 120 feet south of the southerly curb line of South Tenth Avenue.

(F) From the northerly curb line of South Tenth Avenue to a point 120 feet of the southerly curb line of South Eleventh Avenue.

(G) From the northerly curb line of South Eleventh Avenue to a point 120 feet south of the southerly curb line of Merilind Avenue.

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) From the Edison Township-Borough of Highland Park corporate line to a point 120 feet north of the northerly curb line of Lexington Avenue.

(B) From the southerly curb line of Lexington Avenue to a point 120 feet north of the northerly curb line of Washington Avenue.

(C) From the southerly curb line of Washington Avenue to a point 120 feet north of the northerly curb line of Highland Avenue.

(D) From the southerly curb line of North Eleventh Avenue to a point 120 feet north to the northerly curb line of North Tenth Avenue.

(E) From the southerly curb line of North Tenth Avenue to a point 120 feet north of the northerly curb line of North Ninth Avenue.

(F) From the southerly curb line of North Ninth Avenue to a point 120 feet north of the northerly curb line of North Seventh Avenue.

(G) From the southerly curb line of North Seventh Avenue to a point 120 feet north of the northerly curb line of North Sixth Avenue.

(A) From the northerly curb line of South Fifth Avenue to the southerly curb line of South Sixth Avenue.

No stopping or standing from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From the northerly curb line of South First Avenue to the southerly curb line of South Fifth Avenue.

(6)

No stopping or standing from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) From the southerly curb line of North Sixth Avenue to a point 75 feet north of the northerly curb line of North Third Avenue.

(B) From the southerly curb line of North Third Avenue to the northerly curb line of North Second Avenue.

(7)

No stopping or standing from  7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM-6:00 PM along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) From a point 110 feet south of the southerly curb line of North Second Avenue to a point 150 feet north of the prolongation of the northerly curb line of South First Avenue.

v.  In the Township of Edison:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Between the Edison Township – Highland Park Borough corporate line and the Edison Township – Metuchen Borough corporate line including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

vi. In the Borough of Metuchen:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Lake Avenue (Route NJ 27) to the southerly curb line of Main Street (approximate mileposts 21.60 to 22.08).

(B) Beginning at a point 500 feet south of the southerly curb line of Grove Avenue and extending to a point 260 feet north of the northerly curb line of Grove Avenue (approximate mileposts 27.61 to 27.74).

(2)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 300 feet north of the northerly curb line of Grove Avenue and extending to the northerly curb line of Main Street (approximate mileposts 22.75 to 22.08).

(B) Beginning at the southerly curb line of Main Street and extending to a point 80 feet south of the southerly curb line of Centre Street (approximate mileposts 22.08 to 21.90).

(C) Beginning at a point 220 feet south of the southerly curb line of Centre Street to the northerly curb line of Lake Avenue (Route NJ 27) (approximate mileposts 21.87 to 21.60).

vii.  In the Township of Woodbridge:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Between points 400 feet south of, and 250 feet north of the intersection of Oak Tree Road.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between points 160 feet north of the intersection of Auth Avenue and 400 feet south of the intersection of Oak Tree Road

In Somerset County:

i.  In the Township of Franklin:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Beginning at the northerly bridge abutment of the Millstone River to Church Street-Academy Street (approximate mileposts 3.0 to 3.32)

(B) Beginning at a point 165 feet north of Church Street and extending to the northerly curb line of Church Street (approximate mileposts 3.32 to 3.33)

(C) Beginning at the City of New Brunswick – Franklin Township corporate line and extending to a point 35 feet south of Shaw Drive (approximate mileposts 3.57 to 15.13)

In Union County:

i.  In the City of Rahway:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at the Woodbridge Township – Rahway City corporate line and extending to the southerly curb line of Jaques Avenue (approximate mileposts 27.13 to 27.40).

(B) Beginning at a point 375 feet north of the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Rayhon Terrace to a point 40 feet north of the northerly curb line of Audrey Drive (approximate mileposts 29.42 to 29.60).

(2)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except public holidays:

(A) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Harrison Street to the southerly curb line of School Street (approximate mileposts 28.96 to 29.03).

(3)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 40 feet north of the northerly curb line of Audrey Drive to a point 375 feet north of the northerly curb line of Rayhon Terrace (approximate mileposts 29.60 to 29.42)

(B) Beginning at the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Union Street to the northerly curb line of Westfield Avenue (approximate mileposts 28.90 to 28.83).

(C) Beginning at the southerly curb line of Murray Street to the Rahway City – Woodbridge Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 27.40 to 27.13).

ii.  In the City of Linden:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at the northerly curb line of East Baltimore Avenue and extending to the southerly curb line of Chandler Avenue.

(B) Beginning at a point 660 feet north of the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Stuart Place and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom. (approximate milepost 29.8).

iii. In the Borough of Roselle:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between a point 200 feet northerly thereof, and the north curb of Carolyn Terrace.

(B) Between Harrison and Chandler Avenue.

(2)

No stopping or standing between the hours of 6:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 260 feet north of the northerly curb line of Highland Parkway to a point 260 feet northerly therefrom.

(3)

No stopping or standing between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between Thompson Avenue and Harrison Avenue (approximate mileposts 31.85 to 32.08).

(B) Between Chandler Avenue and a point 60 feet south of the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Baltimore Avenue (approximate mileposts 31.5 to 31.78).

iv. In the City of Elizabeth:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Between the intersection of North Broad Street and Morris Avenue.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between a point 150 feet east of, and the easterly curb line of Morris Avenue.

(B) From the northerly curb line of Rahway Avenue to a point 90 feet northerly therefrom.

(3)

No stopping or standing between the hours of 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between the intersection of North Broad Street and a point 150 feet east of the easterly curb line of Morris Avenue.

(b)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "no parking bus stop" zones where parking is prohibited at all times. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established bus stops:

Mercer County:

i. In the Borough of Princeton:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Cedar Lane - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Cedar Lane and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(A) Beginning at a point 100 feet north of the prolongation of the northerly curb line of the southerly intersect of Orchard Terrace with Route NJ 27 and extending 23 feet northerly therefrom.

ii. In the City of Elizabeth:

(1)

Restricted parking (Handicapped) along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 269 feet from the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Durant Street and extending 22 feet south therefrom.

(d)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 27 described in this section are designated and established as "no parking" zones for designated curb loading zones and loading zones. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199 permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established loading zones:

In Mercer County:

i. In the Borough of Princeton:

(1)

Along the southbound (westerly side):

(A) Beginning at a point 35 feet south of the southerly curb line of Pine Street and extending 50 feet southerly therefrom.

(B) Beginning at a point 455 feet south of the southerly curb line of Moore Street and extending 50 feet southerly therefrom.

(C) Beginning at a point 255 feet south of the southerly curb line of South Tulane Street and extending 50 feet southerly therefrom.

(D) Beginning at a point 35 feet south of the southerly curb line of Witherspoon Street and extending 50 feet southerly therefrom.

In Union County:

i. In the City of Elizabeth:

(1)

No parking at loading zones along the northbound easterly side:

(A) Beginning at a point 291 feet from the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Durant Street and extending 40 feet south therefrom.

(2)

No parking at loading zones along the northbound (easterly) side between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM from Monday through Saturday:

(A) Beginning at a point 170 feet south of West Jersey Street and continuing 51 feet southerly thereof.

(e)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "time limit parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times except as specified and in statutory areas. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established time limit parking zones:

1.

In Mercer County:

i. In the Borough of Princeton:

(1)

Two hour time limit parking (metered) between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, except Sundays along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From the northerly curb line of University Place to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Chambers Street.

(B) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Chambers Street to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of John Street.

(C) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of John Street to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Palmer Square West.

(D) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Witherspoon Street to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Tulane Street.

(E) From the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Tulane Street to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Vandeventer Avenue.

(2)

Two hour time limit parking (metered) between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, except Sundays along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From the northerly curb line of Mercer Street to the southerly curb line of University Place.

(B) From the northerly curb line of Washington Road to a point 410 feet northerly therefrom.

(C) Beginning at a point 470 feet north of the northerly curb line of Washington Road to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Moore Street.

(D) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Charlton Street to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Moran Avenue.

(E) Beginning at the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Chestnut Street to the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Pine Street.

(F) Beginning at a point 190 feet north of the northerly curb line of Harrison Street to the southerly curb line of Markham Street.

(3)

Two hour time limit parking (metered) between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, except Sundays along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) From the southerly curb line of Vandeventer Avenue to the northerly curb line of Tulane Street.

(B) From the southerly curb line of Tulane Street to the northerly curb line of Witherspoon Street.

(C) From the southerly curb line of Palmer Square West to the northerly curb line of John Street.

(D) From the southerly curb line of John Street to the northerly curb line of Chambers Street.

(4)

Two hour time limit parking (metered) between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, except Sundays along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 122 feet south of the southerly curb line of Maple Street to the northerly curb line of Pine Street.

(B) Beginning at a point 85 feet south of the southerly curb line of Pine Street to the northerly curb line of Chestnut Street.

(C) Beginning at a point 100 feet south of the southerly curb line of Moran Avenue to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Charlton Street.

(D) From the southerly curb line of Moore Street to a point 318 feet southerly therefrom.

(E) Beginning at a point 378 feet south of the southerly curb line of Moore Street to a point 76 feet southerly therefrom.

(F) Beginning at a point 504 feet south of the southerly curb line of Moore Street to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Washington Road.

(G) From the southerly curb line of Chambers Street to the northerly curb line of Bank Street.

One Hour time limit parking along both sides from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily except Sundays and public holidays:

(A) Between South First Avenue and Sixth Avenue.  Vehicles must park between pointed lines provided.

In Union County:

i.  In the City of Rahway

(1)

Two (2) hour time limit parking between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon, daily, along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Jaques Avenue to a point 125-feet south of the prolongation of the southerly curb line of Orchard Street.

(B) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Coddington Street to the southerly curb line of Hamilton Street.

(C) Beginning at the northerly curb line of West Grand Avenue to a point 100-feet south of Harrison Street.

(D) Beginning at the northerly curb line of School Street to a point 375-feet north of the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Rayhon Terrace.

(2)

Two (2) hour time limit parking between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon, daily, along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 290-feet south of the southerly curb line of Ross Street to the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Union Street.

(B) Beginning at the southerly curb line of Westfield Avenue to a point 100-feet north of the northerly curb line of Lake Avenue.

(C) Beginning at the southerly curb line of West Lake Avenue to the northerly curb line of Grove Street.

(D) Beginning at a point 125-feet south of the southerly curb line of Orchard Street to the northerly curb line of Murray Street.

ii. In the City of Linden:

(1)

Two hour time limit parking from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From Roselle Street to Lincoln Street.

(2)

Two hour time limit parking from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) From Wood Avenue to Summit Terrace.

(3)

Two hour time limit parking between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, except Sundays & Public Holidays along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Between Seymour Avenue and Washington Avenue.

(4)

Two hour time limit parking from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) From Summit Street to Laurita Street.

(5)

Two hour time limit parking from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday through Saturday along the west side:

(A) From Cranford Avenue to Grant Street.

(f)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "no parking taxi stand" zones where parking is prohibited at all times. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established taxi stands:

1.

In Mercer County:

i. In the Borough of Princeton:

(1)

No parking (taxi stand) along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 100 feet north of the northerly curb line of Palmer Square East and extending 145 feet northerly therefrom

(g)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "parking during certain hours" zones. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following and parking during certain hours zones:

1.

In Union County:

i. In the City of Elizabeth:

(1)

No parking along the northbound (easterly) side between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday:

(A) Beginning at a point 210 feet south of the southerly curb line of North Avenue and extending to a point 75 feet southerly therefrom.

(h)

The certain parts of Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "No Parking between certain hours on all days" zones for Trucks and Buses in access of Four (4) tons gross weight except where parking is prohibited at all times and in statutory areas. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established No Parking between certain hours on all days for Trucks and Buses in access of Four (4) tons gross weight zones:

1.

In Union County:

i. In the Borough of Roselle:

(1)

Along the southbound (westerly) side between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, Sunday through Saturday, including Holidays:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions..

(i)

The certain parts of Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "time limit" zones for Trucks and Buses where parking is prohibited at all times except as specified and in statutory areas. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established time limit parking zones:

1.

In Union County:

i. In the Borough of Roselle:

(1)

Two hour (2) Time Limit parking along the southbound (westerly) side during a 24-hour period daily, between Sunday and Saturday, including Holidays.

(A) Within the entire corporate limits.

(j)

The certain parts of Route NJ 27 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as “time limit” zones except by permit, during certain hours on certain days. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established time limit parking zones:

1.

In Middlesex County:

i. In the Borough of Metuchen:

(1)

Two (2) hour Time Limit parking except by permit along the southbound (westerly) side, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily except Sundays and Holidays.

(A) Beginning at a point 75 feet north of the northerly curb line of Route NJ 27 (Lake Avenue) and extending to a point 150 feet northerly therefrom. (Approximate milepost 21.87 to 21.90).
