Short-term Priority Improvements
The New Jersey Department of
Transportation developed a
prioritized list of specific
high priority improvements
that were essential to preserve
the structural integrity of
the bridge while a long-term
solution (replacement or rehabilitation)
was decided upon.
The high priority improvements identified include:

- repairing the deteriorated concrete railings at the east end of the structure;
- performing deck repairs to the most deteriorated spans;
- repairs to structural steel and concrete supports; and
- installing a drainage system along
the full length of the
bridge.

The roadway deck is cracked
and deteriorated.

On the improved deck, the left lane has the
deck overlay and the right lane does not.
|
Both lanes completed with deck overlay.
