Instructions and
reporting procedures for State Social Security (FICA) Contributions
are available through the NJ Department of Education (DOE)
Web site. Your first step should be to access the instructions
through this link:
http://www.nj.gov/njded/finance/sf/sscsman.pdf
You may download
and print the instructions in PDF™ format from this page.
Next, you will need
to download the program that will allow you to access DOE.NET,
the actual site for transacting this business. The needed
software is available at: http://www.state.nj.us/njded/data/collections/programs/doenet3.exe
Once you have
logged into the DOE.NET site, you should follow the directions
in the manual for reporting FICA contributions. Instructions
will also be available concerning when you might expect
to receive FICA reimbursement.
The manual available
at the DOE main Web site is provided in this manual as a courtesy:
Technical Manual
Social Security Contributions System. To ensure, however,
that you have most recent version of the manual, you should
access it directly through the DOE Web site at: http://www.nj.gov/njded/finance/sf/sscsman.pdf.
Please note that
in August 2003, the New Jersey DOE began a transition to Web-enabled
DOEnet and away from DOEnet 3.0. Additional information about
this transition, which is still continuing, can be viewed
at: http://www.state.nj.us/njded/data/collections/wdoenet/transition.htm
