Effective January 1, 2012

Prescription Drug Coverage for Medicare Eligible Retirees

Effective January 1, 2012, retired members of the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) or School Employees’ Health Benefits Program (SEHBP) who are eligible for Medicare will be automatically enrolled in Medco's Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage, the Medco Medicare Prescription Plan.

Medco will remain the prescription drug plan administrator for these retirees and coverage in the Medco Medicare Prescription Drug Plan is similar to the current Medco plans — i.e. members pay the appropriate copayment for either a retail or mail order prescription drug order.
