TRAINING FOR EMPLOYERS
Required Under Chapter 52, P.L. 2011
Effective June 19, 2011, Chapter 52, P.L. 2011, requires that employers complete training on the rules and regulations governing eligibility and enrollment of employees in New Jersey State-administered retirement systems.

EMPLOYER PENSION PROCESSING TRAINING
The Division of Pensions and Benefits presents Employer Pension Processing Training
for Certifying Officers and other personnel
responsible for the administration of
pension and benefits at employing locations.
- Training is offered in live classroom sessions in Mercer County; and prescheduled live Webinars hosted by GoToMeeting; or virtual on-site training via GoToMeeting.
- All training is designed to include recent changes to administrative rules and state and federal laws.
- To begin, select the type of employer training that you require:
CHARTER SCHOOL TRAINING
This is a training session for NEW Charter School Certifying Officers, Certifying Officer's Supervisors, and Human Resources/Payroll Personnel.
This session covers the procedures for a new charter school to comply with the requirements applicable to local governmental employers regarding Social Security and State pension enrollment. This also includes a description of Chapter 52, P.L. 2011 which requires mandatory employer training before enrollment applications can be processed by the Division. We introduce the EPIC system, where employers can access their employees' pension account information online for processing and inquiry. We briefly introduce the MBOS system, which allows employees and retirees to access their own accounts over the Internet.

INTERNET REPORT OF CONTRIBUTIONS (IROC) TRAINING
This employer training is designed for anyone in payroll or benefit administration who is responsible for completing the quarterly pension Internet Report of Contributions or IROC. Whether you are brand new or a seasoned veteran, we are sure that you will benefit from this training. Enrollment is limited. Please keep in mind that these are NOT a substitute for the enrollment training required by Chapter 52 P.L. 2011.

DCRP ENROLLMENT AND PROCESSING
This program covers the enrollment rules for the Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP) in detail. We will discuss permanent, temporary, and on-call enrollment rules and show you how to enroll employees using the Employer Pensions and Benefits Information Connection (EPIC). Representatives from the Division and Prudential will explain DCRP benefits and the reporting process. Time will be allowed for questions and answers. Please keep in mind that these are NOT a substitute for the enrollment training required by Chapter 52 P.L. 2011.

Enrollments, Benefits Overview, and Online Systems — This session covers enrollment rules and procedures for the PERS, TPAF, and DCRP and presents a brief overview of the benefits of each of the plans. We introduce the Employer Pensions and Benefits Information Connection (EPIC), where employers can access to their employees' pension account information for processing and inquiry. We also introduce the Member Benefits Online System (MBOS), which allows employees and retirees to access their own accounts. Please keep in mind that these are NOT a substitute for the enrollment training required by Chapter 52 P.L. 2011.

STATE DEPARTMENT/AGENGY EMPLOYER TRAINING
PENSION PROCESSING 103 (State Employers)
Enrollment, Benefits, and Employer Responsibilities — This is a training class for human resource and payroll staff with responsibility for pension and health benefit administration at State employing locations. The class covers the enrollment rules and procedures for all of the State-administered retirement systems (PERS, TPAF, PFRS, DCRP), the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP), and presents a brief overview of the benefits of these plans. We introduce the Employer Pensions and Benefits Information Connection (EPIC), where employers can access to their employees' pension account information for processing and inquiry.
