Although
some businesses are required to participate in the Electronic Funds
Transfer Program, everyone is eligible to enroll.
EFT
Options
The
first step is to decide whether you will use the Debit or Credit Option
for your payment. The Debit option provides for the transfer of funds
by authorizing the State to electronically debit your bank account.
In the Credit option, you instruct your bank to debit your account
and credit the State's bank account. The Overview
provides information about these payment choices and the associated
fees.
Online
Enrollment
If you
are required to participate in the EFT Program and opt for ACH Debit
payments, you may now enroll
online. Online enrollment is currently available only if you have
received a letter containing an Enrollment Confirmation ID number.
Select the tax and fees for which you are eligible to make payment.
Upon completion of the enrollment, you will be given a confirmation
number for the ACH Debit enrollment. After your registration has been
processed, you will be provided the information needed to begin making
your payments electronically.
At this
time, the online service can only be used for initial registration
into the EFT program. Changes to your enrollment must be submitted
by paper.
Soon
voluntary participants in the program will also be able to enroll
online.
Enroll
by Paper Document
If you
choose the ACH Credit method or elect not to file online for ACH Debit,
you may download the appropriate form based on the selection that
you have made. When you submit the application, you will need to provide
bank verification. This may be a voided check, a bank statement, or
a letter from your bank that indicates your account number.
After
processing your paper application, which takes approximately two weeks
and includes establishing both a clearing bank account and the State
account, you will be provided with the information needed to begin
making your payments electronically.
