Notice to all businesses located within the Atlantic City Special Project District
Notice to all businesses located within the Atlantic City Special Project District approved by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) in accordance with the “Urban Revitalization Act.” N.J.S.A. 5:12-173.9 et seq. Businesses within this district cannot consolidate their Sales/Use tax filings with the New Jersey Division of Taxation.
The law authorizes the Director of the Division of Taxation, to prescribe forms and procedures and to require any business to provide any information necessary to administer the Act. In order to properly identify the sales tax collected and remitted by businesses located within a district project, the Division must have a separate sales tax accounting for each location within the district project. Therefore, all businesses within this District must file a separate sales tax return for each location within the district.
Businesses within the district cannot consolidate their sales tax filings.
If your business is located within a Casino Reinvestment Project Zone you cannot file a consolidated sales tax return. You must file an individual sales tax return for each location within a CRDA Project Zone.
Should you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the Division of Taxation, Northfield Regional Office at 609-645-6687 to coordinate the business’s compliance with this requirement.
