The Office of the Taxpayer Advocate (OTA) works with taxpayers to resolve their State tax issues by:
Working with taxpayers who are facing “undue hardship” as a result of action by the Division;
Assisting taxpayers whose issues fall within the Division’s jurisdiction; and
Identifying systemic challenges within the Division that increase the burden on, or create, certain issues for taxpayers. When appropriate, OTA will recommend administrative or legislative solutions.
Note: OTA cannot assist with issues that result from a determination or action of another State department or agency.
