New Jersey Flooding: What to do if you need help, if you want to contribute, or volunteer.

Several New Jersey counties have been severely affected by flooding and for many of our neighbors the recovery may require months of assistance. Here is current information on how you can access or offer assistance. Please check back for periodic updates.

2-1-1 - This phone number is the first point of contact for those who need assistance.

2-1-1 will connect you to the wide range of social services and volunteer placements in response agencies.

Contributions - The following agencies are actively involved in first response efforts, including rescue, shelter, and provision of food and supplies. Please consider a cash or gift card contribution. County agencies have advised that they are not seeking clothing donations. If you would like to make a cash or gift card donation, please contact any of the agencies that are engaged in helping families affected by the flood:

American Red Cross Disaster Assistance

    Contributions:
    All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.  You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, disasters like the New Jersey Floods, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster please do so at the time of your donation. Call 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish). Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting www.redcross.org.
