Family Assistance Center Closed as of March 22
Services at Center Replaced by Family Advocate Program

After six months of serving the families affected by the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the New Jersey Family Assistance Center in Jersey City has closed.

The services provided by the center will be replaced by the New Jersey Family Advocate Program, established by Governor James E. McGreevey in February to provide individuals and families affected by the Sept. 11 attacks with more personalized attention and to help them navigate the wide array of services available. The program will be operational in April.

For information, families who lost loved ones in the Sept. 11 attacks and victims who were injured in the attacks may call the Governor's Office of Recovery and Victim Assistance at 609-777-1248 or contact the Family Advocate Program at 866-652-7474. The toll-free line is staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those calling after hours are encouraged to leave a message so the call can be returned.
