The Board of Public Utilities and its Clean Energy Program offer a variety of programs to help offset the costs of making your home energy efficient and more comfortable. Our programs assist you through the decision making process by offering the most economical solutions and providing incentives and rebates for your purchases. 

Additionally, if you have done your best at conserving energy, upgrading to energy efficient appliances, HVAC units, or having a home energy audit, you may be ready to invest in renewable energy.  Our skilled staff will provide you with the right information to get started - all the way through completing the process.

Residential Programs:

COOLAdvantage and WARMAdvantage Programs
Rebates are available for energy efficient heating and cooling equipment such as central air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, or water heaters.

Comfort Partners
Improves energy affordability for income-eligible households. If you qualify, a contractor will assess the energy savings opportunities and install the measures at no cost. The program also provides personalized customer energy education and counseling.

Appliance Rebates and Lighting 

This program offers rebates on qualifying ENERGY STAR clothes washers, dryers and refrigerators as well as promoting the sale of ENERGY STAR qualified lighting products through major New Jersey retailers and online. 



Incentives of up to $4,000 and 0% financing are available for energy efficient upgrades throughout your whole house. Certified contractors will come to your home and identify sources of wasted energy. You will receive a detailed plan with recommended measures, costs and payback analysis.


Residential New Construction 

This Program offers rebates for energy efficient new home construction that target Smart Growth Areas. New Jersey ENERGY STAR Homes are at least 15%-35% more energy efficient than standard built homes.  


Refrigerator & Freezer Recycling Program 

Do you have a refrigerator or freezer sitting in the garage wasting energy?  New Jersey's Clean Energy Program will come pick it up for FREE and offers a $50 incentive.


Oil, Propane & Municipal Electric Customers 
New Jersey residents, who are municipal electric, oil, or propane customers, are eligible to participate in and receive incentives from certain programs. Please check NJCEP for more information and availability of funds.

SREC Registration Program

This program registers solar projects in order to earn Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs).
