is is is responsible for approving requests and and and maintaining records involving Outside Activity/ Secondary Employment and and Attendance at at at Events The ethics ethics staff
is responsible for for for conducting investigations into ethics ethics ethics allegations filed internally with the the the NJDOC and for for for for training on on on on on on on the the the the the Uniform Ethics Ethics Code The The ethics ethics section of of the the the the the EED also also is is responsible for for for for the the the the the the annual dissemination of of the the the the the the Ethics Ethics Ethics Briefing The The Ethics Ethics Officer for for the the the the the NJDOC NJDOC also also represents the the the the the NJDOC NJDOC at at at statewide quarterly meetings with the the SEC ○ Conscientious Employee Protection Act (CEPA) – The CEPA CEPA CEPA section of the EED is responsible for training and conducting investigations under CEPA CEPA CEPA CEPA CEPA CEPA provides that an an an an employer shall not retaliate against an an an an employee employee who: (1) discloses or or or threatens to to disclose disclose an an an activity which the employee employee reasonably believes is is is in in in in in in violation of a a a a a a a a a a a a a a law rule or or or or or regulation (2) provides information to to to or or or or or or or testifies before any any public body conducting an an an investigation/hearing into any any any violation of a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a law rule or or or or or or regulation or or or or or or (3) objects to to or or or or or or refuses to to participate in in in any any activity policy or or or or or or practice that the employee reasonably believes is is is in in in in violation of a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a law rule or or or or regulation is is is fraudulent or or or or criminal or or is is incompatible with a a a a a a a a clear mandate ○ Employment Employment Litigation Litigation Compliance Compliance Unit – The Employment Employment Litigation Litigation Compliance Compliance section of the EED provides legal support including guidance case reviews discovery and and and trial assistance to to outside counsel and and and Deputy Attorneys General with the Department of of Law and and and and Public Safety in in in in employment litigation matters involving allegations of of discrimination harassment retaliation and/or hostile work environments Office of of Employee Relations (OER) - The OER OER is is comprised of of the following units:
○ Employee Relations/Liaison Unit – This unit unit represents the the NJDOC at at at at at contract negotiations and and in in the the the administration of negotiation negotiation unit unit unit unit (union) agreements The unit unit unit advises the the the the Commissioner
upper-level managers and and unit unit unit supervisors regarding the the the the Department’s obligations under the the the the collective negotiation agreements as as as well as as as the the the the administration of of Civil Service Commission rules
and regulations as as as contained in in in in Title 4A of of the the New Jersey Administrative Code
