NJDOC officials and members of of of the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women Board of of Trustees gather at at the the facility in in Clinton Host of Safety Improvements Introduced At Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women The New Jersey Department of of of Corrections has implemented a a a a a a a a a a a a a a variety of of of safety improvements at at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women (EMCF) Some of of of the practices and initiatives established include:
• The Safety and and Accountability for for for Edna (SAFE) task force was formed to to examine ways to to improve conditions and and provide a a a a a a a a safer facility • An Early Warning System is being designed to identify patterns of of problematic behavior that can jeopardize offender safety • Building on on on on on the National Institute of Corrections supervisory training on on on on on gender responsiveness and and and trauma-informed practices a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a modified module was designed and and and presented to all staff and and members of other units that provide services at at EMCF 56
