Anthony M. Villane 

 

Anthony M. Villane, D.D.S., the eighth Commissioner of DCA, was appointed in 1988 by Governor Thomas H. Kean.

Prior to his service, Commissioner Villane was a practicing dentist. He was elected to the Assembly in 1975 and re-elected six times. From 1984 to 1988, he served as chairman of the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

Villane received his undergraduate education at Rutgers University and received his degree in dentistry from Temple University in 1955. From 1955 to 1958, he served as a captain in the United States Air Force.

Subsequent to his service with the Department, Villane served as regional director for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
