ArcGIS Online Applications

The Bureau of Energy and Sustainability utilizes ArcGIS Online’s web-based mapping platform to develop interactive products such as web-maps, applications, and story maps. Click the links below to view these products.

New Jersey RGGI Electric Generating Units

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is the first mandatory market-based program in the United States to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. RGGI is a cooperative effort among the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New Jersey to cap and reduce CO2 emissions from the power sector.

This interactive web-based mapping application shows the electric generating units regulated under RGGI in New Jersey and provides information on annual generation, operating time, and carbon dioxide emissions. The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a collaborative among several states.

New Jersey Public Electric Vehicle Charging Locator

This interactive web-based application was developed by the NJDEP's Bureau of Energy & Sustainability to provide users with up-to-date information related to public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the State of New Jersey. The dashboard layout provides users with quickly accessible summaries of the number of EV charging locations and number of charging ports, based on the level of charging power (i.e. Level 1, Level 2, or DC Fast Charging). Users can also use the search tools to locate nearby charging stations or filter stations based on their EV connector type. The underlying station location data is obtained from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) on a daily basis.

New Jersey Community Solar PV Siting Tool

This tool was developed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to support and inform the siting of solar projects under the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities' Community Solar Energy Pilot Program. The data layers in this tool were chosen to assist with identifying sites in the State that may be given a higher preference for siting Community Solar PV projects based on the Evaluation Criteria in Appendix C of the Community Solar Energy Pilot Program Application Form.

NJ Sustainable Business Registry: Princeton Community Spotlight

This story map shows the location of each Princeton-based business on the NJ Sustainable Business Registry as well as information about each business and the steps they are taking to incorporate "green" practices into their everyday operations.

NJ County Solar PV Dashboard

This interactive dashboard provides a summary of solar PV installations in NJ’s counties broken out by installation type (i.e. residential, non-residential, and grid supply). The dashboard is updated on a monthly basis to provide an accurate and up-to-date representation of the state of solar in New Jersey.

NJDEP Solar Siting Analysis Application

This is an interactive web-mapping application that illustrates the NJDEP’s preference for siting solar PV projects in the State based on the 2017 Solar Siting Analysis Update. You can search by address to determine NJDEP’s preference for siting solar PV at specific locations.

NJDEP Solar Siting Analysis Story Map

This story map summarizes NJDEP’s Solar Siting Analysis 2017 Update and includes an interactive web mapping application that illustrates the NJDEP’s preference for siting solar PV projects in the State.
