The Environmental Review Section performs environmental and cultural resource impact assessments for the planning and design of projects pursuing
financing under any of the programs administered by the Municipal Finance and Construction Element. This ensures projects receiving financing are in compliance with
applicable state and federal environmental and cultural resource laws. Project reviewers summarize project conditions, anticipated impacts and necessary mitigating
measures. The conclusions of this review process are conveyed to the public by issuance of an Environmental Decision Document that is communicated to all affected
parties. Assistance is provided to address environmental concerns during the construction phase on an as-needed basis
The office also consults with the Division of Water Monitoring and Standards to ensure that the Wastewater Management Plans and Water Quality Management Plan Amendments are consistent with the planning developed under the financing programs.
