With each passing year, technology advances by leaps and bounds. We now live in an era where information exchange is booming and we have innumerable resources right at our fingertips in the form of smartphones and tablets; but did you know that all of your favorite Division of Fish and Wildlife resources are just as easy to access on the go?

In order to accommodate the instant gratification lifestyle that so many have become accustomed to the Division of Fish and Wildlife has made a mobile app, its website, listervs and phone numbers available for wildlife enthusiasts who are on the go, and we want you to know about them!

For general information, start with the Division's website at www.njfishandwildlife.com. Here, you can find information on what's new, upcoming events, and links to everything from regulations to the Saltwater Registry to wildlife information. For regulatory and other information beyond the Division's site the public can visit the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) homepage at www.nj.gov/dep.

For New Jersey fishing and hunting license sales, Hunter Education registration and harvest reporting, you can visit https://nj.aspirafocus.com/internetsales. Using this website, you can purchase licenses, stamps and permits for hunting, fishing, clamming, and crabbing. You can also reprint replacement licenses or purchase duplicate ones, submit harvest reports for deer and striped bass, register for Hunter Education and update your personal information.

The Division also maintains eight listservs (e-mailing programs), enabling you to receive notification about regulations, events, news and other information in your Inbox. Lists include fishing (salt and freshwater), hunting, wildlife, education and more. To learn more and to sign up, go to the sign up for our marine fish & shellfish e-mail lists

Our Bureau of Marine Fisheries also has several useful resources. To register with the Saltwater Recreational Registry Program, submit information on a saltwater fishing trip, or view general information on salt water fishing in New Jersey and upcoming programs and events, visit the Saltwater Fishing page. If you'd rather have the latest updates sent directly to you via e-mail, sign up for our marine fish & shellfish e-mail lists. These lists allow us to quickly notify subscribers of important news, events, rule changes or other matters related to New Jersey's wildlife.

Have you ever been out in the wild and thought you spotted some suspicious activity? If you witness or suspect a wildlife violation it should be reported immediately to the nearest Division law office (see the Contact Us page for numbers). Outside of regular business hours, the DEP has a 24-hour toll-free hotline for reporting violations and other environmental complaints and abuses, including spills, discharges and emergencies - the DEP Environmental Hotline: 1-877-WARN-DEP (877-927-6337). And anyone aware of a violation or violator but wishing to remain anonymous can submit a report 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling Operation Game Thief: 1-855-OGT-TIPS (855-648-8477).

If you are simply looking to contact the Division of Fish and Wildlife, all related phone numbers can be found on our Contact Us page, or e-mail the Division directly using the E-mail DFW Form.

It is our goal to be available to you at all times, in as many different ways as possible. We hope that by providing the information in this article, it will be easier than ever for wildlife enthusiasts to stay informed while doing what they love to do.
