2017 Spring Trout Weekly Stocking Schedules

Changes and updates will be posted below as necessary; changes will also noted on the 24-hour Trout Stocking Hotline, 609-633-6765.

NOTE: Due to a delay in the printing of the Trout Regulation Signs a number of waters have yet to be posted. All waters have been and will be stocked as scheduled.

In-Season Stocking Schedules:

Week 1, April 10 - 14
Week 2, April 17 - 21
Week 3, April 24 - 28
Week 4, May 1 - May 5
Week 5, May 8 - 12
Week 6, May 15 - 19
Week 7, May 22 - 26

Trout Conservation Areas

Note that the following Year Round Trout Conservation Areas are not stocked as frequently as the rest of the stream due to the special regulations (one 15" trout per day, with no harvest allowed during the pre-season and in-season stocking closures that apply to each stream):

Musconetcong River - Point Mountain
Toms River

These stretches are scheduled for stocking during the pre-season period, Week 3 (April 24 - 28), Week 6 (May 15 - 19) and Week 7 (May 22 - 26). The Claremont stretch on the S/Br. Raritan River is not stocked with trout because reproducing populations of brook and brown trout are present and provide a trout fishery.

2017 SPRING TROUT STOCKING CHANGES / UPDATES

4/10/17 - Merrill Creek Reservior which was scheduled for stocking today (Monday, 4/10) will be stocked Wednesday, April 12; Round Valley Reservoir, originally scheduled for Wednesday (4/12) was/will be stocked today Monday, April 10.
4/3/17 - Lawrence Brook from the Riva Ave. bridge downstream to Ryders Lane (Milltown, Middlesex Co.) is closed to all fishing due to a spill of transformer oil and subsequent cleanup operation.
3/9/17 - Stony Lake in Stokes State Forest (Sussex Co.) will not be stocked due to dam repairs. Trout allocated for Stony Lake will be spread out among the other trout stocked waterbodies in the area such as Lake Ocquittunk, the Big Flat Brook, and other nearby trout stocked waterbodies.
2/27/17 - Woodcliff Lake (Hudson Co.) will not be stocked due to dam repairs. Trout allocated for Woodcliff Lake will be spread out among other nearby trout stocked waterbodies.
