DGS96-2 Bedrock Geology of Warren County, New Jersey
  dgs96-2.zip (573k)
Abstract
The bedrock geology of Warren County consists of three ARC/INFO Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) coverages. The GIS data were digitized from various
published and unpublished 1:24,000 and 1:48,000 scale geologic maps compiled
from 1987 to 1993. The "contacts" theme contains map polygons and lines of
stratigraphic unit boundaries and fault traces. The "folds" theme contains
line traces of antiforms and synforms in bedding and cleavage. The "tiles"
theme contains polygons and lines of the county boundary and U.S. Geological
Survey 7-1/2' quadrangles. The readme.txt file contains a list of the polygon
and line variables used in these themes.
These generalized maps show the geologic contacts, folds, and 7-1/2'
quadrangle coverages included in DGS96-2. Fold traces depicted in the lower
map are grouped into those occurring in Paleozoic rocks (red lines) and
Proterozoic rocks (black lines).
