[SRRA]: Revised Technical Guidance for Immediate Environmental Concerns (IECs), Soil SI/RI/RA

The Department announces the availability of revised Technical Guidance for Immediate Environmental Concerns (IECs) and Technical Guidance for Site Investigation of Soil, Remedial Investigation of Soil, and Remedial Action Verification Sampling for Soil.

The revised IEC Technical Guidance incorporates updates and changes based on the May 7, 2012 Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (N.J.A.C. 7:26E). Major changes include a new section on monitoring requirements for Engineered Systems and instructions for the submission of the Annual Monitoring and Maintenance report for all IECs. There are also changes to the Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping procedures for both potable well and vapor intrusion IECs; the Currently Known Extent (CKE) map should be provided as a GIS deliverable, and the licensed site remediation professional (LSRP) should verify the site location in NJ-Geoweb when the IEC is first identified. IEC related forms and instructions have also been updated and there is a new Monitoring and Maintenance IEC Checklist that should be submitted with the Annual Monitoring and Maintenance report.

The revised Soil Technical Guidance fixes broken internet links and corrects regulatory citations.

These Technical Guidances can be accessed on the Site Remediation webpage in the Guidance Library
(https://www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/).
