[EXTERNAL]: Revised Response Action Outcome Guidance Document version 3.0 now available!

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is pleased to announce that the Response Action Outcome Guidance Document has been revised from Version 2.0 (April 2016) to Version 3.0 (October 2021). The following Notices are included in Version 3.0:

  • Well Decommissioning- This notice was incorrect in Version 2.0 and has been replaced with the correct version from the Model Response Action Outcome promulgated in ARRCS, N.J.A.C. 7:26C.
  • Sediment Contamination from an Off-Site Source Not Remediated- General notice
  • Three On-Site Commingled Plume Conditions Exist notices
  • Transfer of Monitoring Well Use (Redesignated use)
  • Indeterminate Vapor Intrusion (VI) Pathway Not Yet Evaluated
  • Long-Term Vapor Intrusion Monitoring

The document has been revised to include additional information and corresponding examples to various instructional sections and existing Notices. Instructions and a shell document on how to withdraw a Response Action Outcome are also included. In the revised document, a Response Action Outcome Type Decision Matrix has been modified into a tabular format. Importantly, an RAO Shell Scenarios/Instructions section has been added to assist the LSRP in crafting the RAO correctly based on frequently identified scenarios.
