In addition to the seminar, the annual luncheon also featured the presentation of the Peter Homack Award. Peter Homack was a former President of the NJ-AWRA and a distinguished engineer; this award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to New Jersey water resources throughout their careers. This year's recipient was former DRBC Director of Science and Water Quality Management Dr. Thomas Fikslin, who retired from the commission in 2018, after a 44-years working in water quality and water resource management with first the U.S. EPA Region II and then DRBC.

The NJ-AWRA has provided professional development and continuing education opportunities to those working in water resources in New Jersey since 1970. DRBC's Manager of Water Resource Modeling Thomas Amidon currently serves as its Immediate Past President.
