Ogdensburg School District has a long tradition of encouraging academic excellence balanced with traditional values. The primary focus of instruction of the district is student centered learning. The district continues to update and integrate technology to enhance engagement and offer greater attention to individual student learning. The use of multiple technology based assessment tools provides insight and information to assist teachers in differentiated learning and captures the imagination of students. Student learning is the central focus of each lesson and students are actively engaged in the learning process. Students are encouraged to think critically for college and career readiness. The district continues to blend traditions with innovation. We currently are a Future Ready recognized school and one of only 5 schools in the State that has a Middle School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter. Ogdensburg School District proudly encourages sustainability with our Green Schools initiative. Our staff participates in a variety of professional development programs to enhance current instructional practices and promote student success. We are continually evaluating all curriculums to ensure that each content is rigorous and Common Core aligned. To foster a positive school climate, the Ogdensburg School District is implementing a positive discipline plan along with an innovative character education program. The district continues to partner with community organizations to enhance the culture and climate of our school community. All local stakeholders are active participants in the learning experiences of our students. Our goal is to continually provide our students with the tools and skills needed to become valuable members of the global economy and engaged citizens.

The purpose of the chart below is to inform parents of choice seat availability before the application deadline in early December. After the deadline, the information will be outdated.

The Department of Education limits the number of choice seats that each district can fill. The “maximum number of new choice students that can be enrolled” tells parents how many new choice students the district can enroll in the next school year. If more than the maximum number of applications is received, a lottery will be held and a waitlist will be developed. Waitlists will be developed for all approved choice grades even if no seats are currently available. NA indicates the district is not accepting choice applications for those grades.
