The Office of Professional Learning, in partnership with the Long Branch Public School District, held the New Jersey Department of Education’s (NJDOE) second annual statewide equity event, “Equity in Action: Strengthening Teaching, Leading and Learning in Unprecedented Times – A Virtual Unconference” on August 4, 2020.

The virtual unconference was designed to respond to inequities brought to light during the pandemic, place a greater focus on tangible strategies for educators to implement immediately, and influence the equity and social justice work that is rapidly growing statewide. There were various sessions in which participants interacted and engaged in dialogue and courageous conversations with other educators across the state to share and exchange practical ideas about equity and participate in self-care wellness sessions.
