Trenton, NJ – The U.S. Department of Education announced that eight of New Jersey's public schools have earned the Blue Ribbon designation for high academic excellence and quality programs.
"We extend congratulations to these eight New Jersey public schools for being named National Blue Ribbon Schools for their educational distinction by the United States Department of Education," said New Jersey Education Commissioner Lamont O. Repollet. “The Blue Ribbon status, which schools earn for overall academic achievement or for closing achievement gaps among groups of students, represents the highest recognition bestowed by the United States Department of Education. Everyone in each of these school communities should take pride in receiving this coveted award.”
National Blue Ribbon Schools are honored at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., where each receives a plaque and flag to signify its exemplary status. Details of the public and private schools that received the Blue Ribbon designation are provided on the U.S. Department of Education's website.
