The New Jersey Tiered System of Supports for Early Reading (NJTSS-ER) grant, a partnership between the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and Rutgers University, engages district literacy coaches in a coach-the-coach model to enhance the effectiveness of reading interventions available to all students. Project participants receive support in reviewing current intervention systems and procedures, as well as assistance in aligning practices and procedures with the essential components of NJTSS. Coaching is provided by State-Level NJTSS-ER coaches to local literacy coaches working in schools that serve students in Kindergarten through grade 3.
