  • Larry Doby (inducted 1993): First African-American in the American League, 7-time All-Star, attended Paterson Eastside High School

  • Joe "Ducky" Medwick (inducted 1993): Triple Crown winner, member of St. Louis Cardinals famous Gashouse Gang, from Carteret

  • Phil Rizzuto (inducted 1993): 1950 MVP, broadcasting legend, Hillside resident

  • Monte Irvin (inducted 1994): Negro League MVP for Newark Eagles, played for NY Giants, 4-sport standout at Orange High School

  • Ray Dandridge (inducted 1996): "Best third baseman never to play in the major leagues," .355 lifetime average with Newark Eagles

  • Leonard Coleman Jr. (inducted 1998): President of National League of Professional Baseball Clubs, standout at Montclair High School and Princeton University
