Undercooked burgers can cause illness (e.g., "food poisoning"), particularly in the elderly, in children 12 years of age and younger, and in people with weakened immunity. These groups should only eat burgers that are "well done," both at home and in restaurants. Burgers should be cooked to an internal temperature of 155° F. - Handwashing
